ELECTION 2007 - CANDIDATES' STATEMENTS
Francisco Covarrubias, Student
My connection to Jefferson Park is that I was born and raised here, which allowed me access to the resources such as the parks, library, and schools. I would like to add my life, diversity and programming experiences to the council so that my community can continue to flourish.
Stevie Stern, The Arts
I believe our neighborhood council unites all of us in our different neighborhoods and block clubs into a single community, and I am running for re-election to continue to help our community raise its voice to demand our fair share of city services and to protect our quality of life.
Margaret Lee, Business Owner
I would like to be on the UNNC Governing Board to better understand the needs of our business owners as well as resident and community buildings. Main concern is to keep the building codes up to date for clean, safe and graffiti-free environment.
Martin Andara, Property Owner
I have been a resident in the area for many years (1960), served as president of chamber of commerce and business owner. I would like to help improve the district, make sure we have new businesses, a clean community, safety and a healthy quality of life.
Meet the Candidates in person - Thursday, October 18, 2007, 7:00 PM, at the South Seas House, 2301 W. 24 th Street, Los Angeles 90018 (24 th St. at Arlington).
