The United Neighborhoods Neighborhood Council (UNNC)
seeks Replacement
for Governing Board seat

UNNC is looking to appoint a replacement for an open Governing Board position - Seat 2 for Region 6 – the area designated between Adams Boulevard to Jefferson Boulevard, and between Western and Arlington Avenues.

This is a volunteer position, to be appointed by the UNNC Governing Board for a term ending June 2014.

The United Neighborhoods Neighborhood Council (UNNC) is an advisory council representing and advocating for our community in matters that include Zoning and Land Use, City services, Recreation and Parks, Schools, Youth, Economic Development.

Requirements and Responsibilities:

  • Volunteer must be a full time resident within Region 6
  • Attendance at Governing Board meetings – the first Thursday of each month
  • Liaison to Region 6 neighborhood block clubs and associations, friends of the library, and any other community organizations within Region 6
  • Attend additional UNNC committee meetings as needed for issues regarding Region 6, such as those pertaining to Land Use and Zoning issues
  • Attend City department meetings or hearings as it pertains to UNNC issues
  • Volunteer at UNNC-sponsored events to outreach to community

Submit your letter of interest to UNNC president Stevie Stern at president@unnc.org or drop off your letter at the Council District 10 field office, 1819 S. Western Avenue, Los Angeles, CA 90006.  Also, plan to attend the UNNC Executive Committee on Tuesday, December 21, 2010, 7:00 pm, at the CD 10 field office, 1819 S. Western Avenue.
