List of Candidates and Candidate Statements

UNNC has produced the following flyers to educate voters about our boundaries, our voting regions, voting eligibility and voting times and locations.

If you would like to distribute thse flyers to your neighborhood group, we may have some available. Call us at 323-731-8686 to ask us for flyers.

This is a fancy way of saying that we give anyone permission to download and print these flyers. Anyone may use these flyers in voter outreach efforts, and you may print as many as you like to share with your neighbors.

The election of the UNNC Governing Board is June 26th. Voting is from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm.

HOW TO VOTE

1. You do not have to be a registered voter to vote in this election.

2. Go to 1819 S. Western on Saturday June 26th. Enter the parking lot on S. Manhattan Place (one block west of Western Ave) between Washington Blvd and 18th.

3. At the polling place you will sign a Stakeholder Registration Form. You will not be asked for identification. You will attest to one of the following:

    I reside at __________________

Or you may assert the factual basis for your vested interest in the neighborhood. The following are EXAMPLES that may fit your situation if you do not reside in UNNC boundaries.

I work at ___________________
(address in UNNC required)

I attend church at _____________

I study at  ___________ school / seminary.

I am affiliated with West Adams Heritage Association and I work to preserve historic neighborhoods in the UNNC area.

4. You will be given a ballot depending on your Resident or Non-Resident status. Everyone votes for up to six Group A candidates and up to five Group B Candidates. Residents also vote for two representatives in their Area.

5. Make sure your vote is counted! For each candidate whose name you write in, be sure to fill in the oval to the right and just slightly above the name.

  • If a disabled voter is unable to access the polling location, they can request curbside voting by calling the Election Division office at (213) 978-0444 or (888) 873-1000.

The Candidate Filing Period for Region H (which includes UNNC) has ended as of Tuesday, April 27, 2010 at 5:00 p.m. The filing period for write-in candidates ended May 27, 2010 at 5:00 pm.
