Details:

On the evening of January 28th, from 8 PM – 12 AM, join over 6,000 volunteers across Los Angeles County in the 2016 Greater Los Angeles Homeless Count! Residents of Jefferson Park, Arlington Heights, Harvard Heights, and all surrounding neighborhoods are invited to volunteer to help LAHSA (Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority) manage the homeless crisis in our neighborhood. This year, UNNC is partnering with Holman Methodist Church at 3320 Adams.

There are many different volunteer opportunities available, so if you aren’t comfortable visiting homeless people on the street, please volunteer for another role!

The annual homeless count helps the public have a real impact on the homeless crisis. It can mean opportunities to build empathy between neighbors, and break down the stigma of homelessness through positive encounters. Homelessness in Los Angeles increased 12% in 2014, and our best shot at solutions is to have good data to measure the problem.
