UNNC President, Denise Jackson greets stakeholders at the Arlington Heights / Angelus Vista Community Breakfast.
UNNC Board members have been very busy this year creating ways to further engage our stakeholders. We’ll soon be in the planning stages for our second annual Economic Development Day Walk on Washington. The First Annual one, held in June of this year, was so successful that community members and business owners can’t wait to do it again. This fun filled day included live music, a DJ, art galleries, dance studios, and tons of give-aways from the participating businesses along the walk. We’re so excited about next years event, and will be sharing more with you about that in the months ahead.
UNNC host their first in a series of regional meet and greet gatherings. Arlington Heights / Angelus Vista neighbors mix and mingle at a Saturday morning breakfast
In September we kicked off our Regional Community events with UNNC’s Region 1 – Arlington Heights / Angelus Vista, hosting a breakfast held at the Amazing Grace Conservatory event space. Stakeholders converged on this cozy space to mix and mingle while learning more about UNNC and each other. Not to worry if you missed that one, you can mark your calendar for UNNC’s Region 2 – Harvard Heights / West Adams Heights Taco Lunch to be held on November 10, 2018 at 2105 Venice Blvd, between 11:00-1:00pm. Come out and meet your representatives, your neighbors, and enjoy a taco or two. Stay tuned for Regions 3 – West Adams Aves community event to be announced in the coming weeks.
You’ll also not want to miss UNNC’s Public Safety fair to be held on November 18, at Holman United Methodist Church at 3320 W. Adams Blvd, between 1-4pm. Come out and learn how to register for the new REAL ID drivers license, participate in a police simulator, learn CPR training, and much more.
This summer we had the pleasure of interviewing new board members to fill the vacant seats. Please welcome our new Secretary and Region 4 Representative, Greg Jackson, along with new Board Members Gavin Abercrombie, Esai Vergara, Patrick Bustad, Cordell Hinton, Chris Carlson, Courtney Hogenson and Najee Thornton. Please visit our Board Page for details on the regions they represent and how to reach out to them.
