UNNC COMMUNITY NEWS AND EVENTS
UNNC is sharing important information with our neighbors:
1). Just A Quick Reminder (We know you know this!)
Our public safety officials asked us to share — All fireworks are illegal in the city of Los Angeles!
2). Help Save A Life
A great resource if you find a runaway pup!
Several local animal rescue and support organizations have joined together to help save dogs lost on the streets (e.g., frightened by fireworks) and reunite them with their owners. (This effort is active for the next few days).

3). Summer Night Lights
Fun Evening Activities at Local Recreation Centers throughout July and August
Launched in 2008, Summer Nights Lights has become a summer staple throughout Los Angeles. Selected recreation centers are open from 7 to 11 p.m., offering food, sports and other activities for the entire family between now and August 12, Wednesday through Saturday, then August 18-25, Friday and Saturday.
There are a few centers near UNNC’s footprint, including Denker Recreation Center, 1550 West 35th Place; Normandie Recreation Center, 1550 S. Normandie; MLK Jr. Recreation Center, 3916 S. Western; and Rancho Cienega (Michelle and Barack Obama) Recreation and Sports Center, 5001 Obama Blvd. The flyer below lists 44 locations in Los Angeles.
