Dear Neighbors, Los Angeles City Council President Marqueece Harris-Dawson has shared the following update:
With the federal government shutdown continuing, the federal administration has halted funding for SNAP benefits. This decision may hit our community hard. But now is the time to show up for one another. If you have the ability to help, please do, and please share this information with your neighbors and friends.
What to expect:
The federal government will not be funding SNAP benefits beginning this Saturday, November 1st. If you currently receive CalFresh benefits make sure to comply with all requirements and update your information as requested by the State of California. All Women Infant and Children (WIC) agencies are still operational.
