You’re Invited to Attend Budget Day 2026, Hosted by the Neighborhood Council Budget Advocates
On behalf of the Neighborhood Council Budget Advocates, we are excited to share that registration is open for Budget Day 2026! Taking place on Saturday, June 27, 2026 at Los Angeles City Hall, this free, annual event brings together Angelenos to learn about the Los Angeles City budget process, discuss regional aspirations, challenges, and priorities, and connect with neighbors, City leaders, and budget experts.
Attendees will have an opportunity to hear from City officials, including Los Angeles City Council Budget and Finance Committee Chair Katy Yaroslavsky, EmpowerLA General Manager Carmen Chang, Board of Neighborhood Commissioners Len Shaffer and Gina Fields, City Administrative Officer Matt Szabo, Los Angeles City Controller Kenneth Mejia, Los Angeles City Councilmember Bob Blumenfield, Assistant City Administrative Officer Ben Ceja, former Chief Deputy Controller Rick Cole, and more. In Regional Breakout Sessions, attendees will have an opportunity to connect with their neighbors and discuss the issues they care about to better inform Budget Advocates as they work together with City leaders.
This year, Budget Day will also include a special breakout session specifically for youth. In partnership with the City of Los Angeles’ Youth Development Department, youth attendees will have a chance to demystify the City budget process, explore how budget decisions impact young Angelenos, learn about opportunities to become a civic leader in the community, and make youth voices heard as part of the public process. Youth between the ages of 14 and 25 are highly encouraged to register and attend!
Complimentary breakfast will be available during a networking hour beginning at 7:30 a.m., with official programming beginning at 9:00 a.m. Language interpretation services will be available if requested by Wednesday, June 23, 2026. Free parking at City Hall will be available to those who register by Thursday, June 24, 2026.
