Jazz under the Stars on Labor Day Weekend
Friday to Sunday,
September 4, 5 and 6

West Adams Avenues Jazz & Music Festival Three Evenings: Friday to Sunday, September 4, 5 and 6 Find your seats starting at 6 p.m. each evening Live entertainment begins at 7 p.m. 7th Avenue between Adams and 25th Street (25th Street and 7th Avenue are closed to traffic) Grab your picnic baskets, chairs, and blankets, and listen to FREE music (and maybe even dance in the street) over three nights at the annual West Adams Avenues Jazz & Music Festival. Once again, the West Adams Avenues Neighborhood Association has a stage smack dab in the middle of 7th Avenue, where a fun array of singers, musical acts and other entertainment will perform starting tomorrow night and continuing Saturday and Sunday. Everyone from near and far is invited. The United Neighborhoods Neighborhood Council is one of the sponsors of this year’s event, along with Council District 10 / Councilwoman Heather Hutt, and the West Adams Heritage Association (WAHA). The WAHA booth will have copies of the perennial favorite, West Adams’ Landmarks of African American History, available for sale. This year's Festival MCs are Comedians Danna Kiel, Rubyn Warren II, and London Brown, and the musical acts include the Gumbo Brothers, Rush Hour, Tracy Hart, Urban Music Society, and Sarah Daye, among others. Along with great music, there will be arts, crafts and jewelry from local artisans selling their wares; kids activities including face painting all three nights....  PLUS Dancing in the Street! A big attraction is the food (glorious food) from area restaurants and food trucks. Look for vendors serving BBQ, soul food, fish, Belizean and Jamaican food, tacos and tamales at more than one booth, kettle corn, pizza, bakery goods including cobblers, burgers, exotic drinks (New this year: Honey Qween's pineapple cinnamon and minted lemonade), and Sion's Caribbean Jewels is once again bringing pineapple fried rice and sliders. YUM. Leave your diet at home. But bring your cash (Zelle, and equivalents)! Event Details, including line-up by each evening: https://www.facebook.com/AvenuesJazzMusicFestival
